Prenatal Chiropractic Care

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Becoming a mother is a life event like no other; we are here to support you and your family all the way! Your Chiropractic care is designed to enhance your well-being and improve the birth outcome, giving you and your baby an optimal beginning.

Why is Prenatal Chiropractic Care Important?

The expectant mother's spine and pelvis undergo many changes to accommodate the growing baby. According to Williams Obstetrics, "Any contraction of the pelvic diameter that diminishes the capacity of the pelvis can create dystocia (difficulty) during labor."  Additionally, the increase in circulating progesterone, estrogen, and relaxin increases pelvic hypermobility and sacral displacement. Chiropractors define this displacement/dysfunction as a spinal misalignment or subluxation.

Great News for Expectant Mothers!

The benefits of chiropractic care during pregnancy extend far beyond treating pain. Specific chiropractic care optimizes nervous system function thereby enhancing the many structural and physiological processes necessary for birth.

Choosing Chiropractic for your pregnancy may offer better motion and give your baby plenty of room to grow, much like a butterfly in its cocoon.

Our Chiropractic Care has been shown to:

  • improve pelvic  and spinal alignment
  • improve pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions
  • work with your OBGYN or midwife to reduce breech presentations
  • diminish post-partum pain and recovery time

Webster Technique

The chiropractor’s primary role in prenatal care is to remove vertebral subluxations (misalignments) and balance the pelvis and corresponding fascia, muscles and ligaments.  In doing so, intrauterine constraint can be remediated to allow the baby to assume a healthier birth posture, and shorter delivery.

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment procedure that improves pelvic integrity.
